Men’s Tennis Travels to Southern Miss Wednesday, South Alabama Saturday

TROY, Ala. – Troy travels to Southern Miss on Wednesday afternoon for a Sun Belt Conference match after rain washed out their originally scheduled date for this past Sunday. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
Troy (13-4, 1-2 SBC) is coming off back-to-back heartbreaking losses to Old Dominion and Louisiana in matches that lasted more than four hours and came down to the final court. Southern Miss (6-9, 0-2) dropped its opening two league matches to South Alabama and Coastal Carolina.
Freshman Mario Martinez Serrano brings a six-match winning streak and 15-2 dual match record with him to Hattiesburg on Wednesday; he is 14-2 on court one this spring. He is one of four Trojans in double-figures in wins on the singles side, along with Yeray Andres Pastor (11-5), Carles Anton (12-3) and Vito Llinares (10-4).
The Trojans have stepped up their play on the doubles courts, winning the doubles point in two of their three Sun Belt matches.
Following Wednesday's match, Troy travels to rival South Alabama (10-7, 3-1) on Saturday for a 2 p.m. match.
