Women's Golf Climbs Leaderboard on Day Two of Bama Beach Bash

GULF SHORES, Ala. – Troy shaved 10 strokes off its opening round tally and moved up two spots on the leaderboard following Monday's second round of the Bama Beach Bash at the Gulf Shores Golf Club.

Led by Elisabeth Preus' 3-over 75, the Trojans shot 22-over on the day as a team to move past UT Arlington and UAB into 12^th place overall. Troy can still make a move in Tuesday's final round with four teams within 12 shots of the Trojans.

Preus carded three birdies in the round, with two of the three coming back-to-back on No. 2 and No. 3 to open her morning. She climbed 18 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 40^th place with teammate Laura Fangmeyer, who was 6-over on the day with a team-best four birdies in her round.

ShaeLee Scarberry is Troy's clubhouse leader at 11-over par and tied for 27^th place. Coming off a round of 78, Scarberry is a manageable five shots from sliding into the top 10. She is tied for 11^th in the field with five birdies through the opening two rounds on a course that has challenged golfers to an average score of 79.38.

Bruna Roqueta shaved seven strokes off her round one score and shot 7-over on Monday to move into a tie for 66^th with teammate Jillian Friyia, who was 11-over for the day.
