TROY, Ala. – Coming off three strong finishes to open the spring, the Troy women's golf team looks to stay hot this week as they travel to Gulf Shores, Ala., for the Bama Beach Bash at the par-72, 6,002-yard Gulf Shores Country Club.
The Trojans finished third last week at the Spring Break Shootout in Lake Jovita, Fla., after opening the spring with second-place and fourth-place performances.
Elisabeth Preus turned in her best performance in two years as she tied for fifth place last week, shooting a 2-over 215 on the par-71 course. She enters the weekend 3.60 relative to par this season, with 88.9 percent of her rounds counting towards the team card.
ShaeLee Scarberry continues to lead the Trojans with a 1.00 score vs. par for the season, and she is tied with Laura Fangmeyer for the most individual rounds under-par with six on the season. Fangmeyer enters with a 2.17 score vs. par for her freshman season.
After missing last week's event, Bruna Roqueta and Jillian Friyia return to the lineup for head coach Randy Keck's squad. Roqueta will be making her seventh appearance of the season and comes in with a 75.11 stroke average, while Friyia is making her fourth appearance and carries a 74.89 mark.
