Quiroga Leads Troy as Play Wraps at The Ally

WEST POINT, Miss. – True freshman Constanza Quiroga fired a 2-over 74 in Wednesday's final round of The Ally at the Old Waverly Golf Club as she carried Troy's top bag for the second time this fall, finishing tied for 23rd. Troy closed out its final event of the fall in 14th place.
Quiroga and Stutts carded seven birdies over the three rounds to pace the Trojans, while Laura Fangmeyer added five. Quiroga played one of the steadier tournaments in the field, tying for sixth with 38 pars while carding the 18th fewest bogeys (8).
Opening on No. 10, Quiroga made the turn two over and hit 3-over after a bogey on the first but quickly responded with a birdie on the par-5 second, her lone red number of the day. Stutts had the most activity in the round with five birdies, four coming on a five-hole stretch after the turn, as she shot 3-over for the second straight day to climb three spots into a tie for 67th place.
Fangmeyer and Manya Saini tied for 69th place at 18-over for the week after shooting 6-over and 5-over, respectively, on Wednesday, while Evelyn Tankersley shot 11-over in the final round to close the week in 81st place.
No. 13 Florida won the team title by five shots over No. 8 Arkansas, while No. 7 Vanderbilt, No. 11 Ole Miss and No. 12 Mississippi State rounded out the loaded field. Troy finished the week 52-over as a team but shot its best round of the tournament in Wednesday's final offering, shooting 16-over.
The Trojans are done on the competition circuit until late February when they play in the Babs Steffen Invitational.
