Men’s Golf Travels for USF Invitational

TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's golf team gears up for its third event of the season with the USF Invitational at Southern Hills Plantation Golf Club from Oct. 9-10.
In Troy's first entry to the USF Invitational, it sends Jake Springer, Pablo Gracia, Brantley Scott, Lee Poppell and Will Simpson. The group of five will compete in Brooksville, Fla., on Monday, taking on a 54-hole course until Tuesday afternoon.

The Sunshine State greets the team after last week's seventh-place finish at the McDowell Invitational in Oneonta, Ala. The unit combined to shoot 866 over three days, scoring 288 on days one and three.
Newcomer Garcia established himself on the course, leading the Trojans with a sixteenth-place finish for a 1-under 215 scoring. Springer also made an impression at Limestone Springs with a 25th-place finish for a score of 1-over par.
Kubin and Carnes made their season debut, scoring 219 and 220, respectively. Kubin excelled on day one with the second-best round for the Trojans when he carded 2-under with three birdies and just a single bogey.
