Men’s Tennis Secures Five Wins at ITA All-American

TULSA, Okla. – The Troy men's tennis team did not ease into the fall schedule as the Trojans opened the season at the ITA All-American against some of the top collegiate competition in the country. All five of Troy's individuals won a match during their time in Tulsa, including a victory over Oklahoma State.

Troy newcomer Benjamin Ambrosio, who transferred to the Trojans following a career at LSU, knocked off Oklahoma State's Ty Wunderlich in the prequalifying round, while Mario Martinez Serrano picked up where he left off last season, defeating Tulsa's Volodymyr Zakharov, a two-time all-conference pick, in the opening round of the qualifying draw.

Yeray Andres Pastor also knocked off a local opponent with a win over Oral Roberts' Gustavo Pinho in the prequalifying draw. Carles Anton and Nicolas Simkin both dropped their initial matches before bouncing back with victories in the consolation draw over opponents from St. John's and UT Arlington, respectively.

Troy is back in action again this weekend for the Mercer Invitational.
