Cross Country Preps for Sun Belt Championships

TROY, Ala. – On Saturday morning, the Troy men's and women's cross country teams gear up to compete in the Sun Belt Championships in Foley, Ala.
The Graham Creek Nature Preserve post-season event includes all conference rivals, starting with the women's 5k at 10:02 a.m. and the men's 8k trekking soon after at 11:00 a.m.

The team is coming off a productive appearance at the Alabama Crimson Classic, finishing the regular season with a 20th-place finish for the men and a 24th-place finish for the women.
Senior Cadi Rowe aided the Trojans as the highest-placed runner for the second consecutive week. Rowe looks to build off last week's 22:15.50 time with a 118th finish for her final Conference Championship showcase.
Kady Schwietz, Giulianna Rivero, and Sydney Lockner will also be coming off momentum, sprinting into Foley after gaining personal bests in Tuscaloosa with times of 25:37.60 (213th), 25:44.30 (214th) and 29:01.80 (217th).
On the men's side, Keith Warner wrapped up his first college regular season as the top finisher in each meet, placing 180th at the Crimson Classic with a time of 27:26.80.
One Last SBC Ride
The Trojans hope to exceed the past two years, where the team placed eight for the men and seven for the women.
Rowe led the women with a 26th-place finish, passing the 5k finish line with a time of 18:51.60. Meanwhile, Dylan Nelson returns to the course for his senior year after last year's 39th-place finish with a time of 26:54.50.
