Men’s Golf Wraps Fall Season at The Clerico

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – Troy shot the second-best round of the day and climbed a spot into seventh place as the Trojans wrapped their fall season at The Clerico. Troy shot 8-over in Tuesday's final round at the Cedar Ridge Country Club and finished ahead of the other Sun Belt teams in the field.
Jake Springer made a 13-spot jump up the leaderboard on Tuesday as he shot 1-over on the par-70 course to finish the week tied for 11th place. Starting on No. 9, Springer birdied the 10th and the 14th around three bogeys in his round.
Pablo Gracia also moved up the standings with his final round performance, climbing eight spots into a tie for 28th position after shooting 2-over thanks to a pair of birdies, while Gage Carnes climbed a pair of spots into a tie for 36th after shooting 73 on the day.
Little Rock held off Michigan by one shot to win the team title, while UTEP, UTSA and Oral Roberts rounded out the top five. Troy bested Sun Belt foes Texas State and South Alabama while knocking off in-state rival Samford.
Nick Fowlkes carded one birdied and maintained his tie for 48th position after shooting 74 in the final round, while Brantley Scott shot 2-over to move up five spots into a tie for 56th.
The Clerico marks the end of the fall season for the Trojans, who are off until traveling to Laredo, Texas, for The Border Olympics on Feb. 19-20.
