Trojans Begin 2023 Indoor Season at Vulcan Invitational

TROY, Ala. – Troy track and field returns from the winter holiday and resume the indoor season with Vulcan Invite hosted by UAB at the Birmingham Crossplex on Friday, Jan 14, beginning at 10 a.m.
This will be the second consecutive year the Trojans will participate in the meet, finishing last year's event with several first-place finishes and both personal and school records. Maya Kelly looks to build off her showing last year after setting a new personal record in the women's 300m with a time of 40.92, Kelly will be running in the women's 400m this year. After placing first in the men's 60m hurdles, Julian Martin-Rodgers is back at the event, trying to repeat
The Trojans are set to compete in 24 events throughout the Vulcan Invite, with 41 athletes making the trip north. Javon Osbourne, Abby Grosinske, Samara Nelson, and Camryn Pettus are a few names to keep an eye on, as they all have experience in this meet and finished strong last season at the invite.
Troy got off to a solid start in the indoor season as they had 10 top-five finishes across eight events in the BSC Icebreaker back in December.
