Troy will be looking to end a three-game losing streak after a series with Georgia Southern. The Trojans haven't lost more than three games at any point this season and are 19-5 when playing on their home turf.
With a .323 batting average second baseman, Donavan Whibbs continues to lead the Trojans. He also leads the team with 17 multiple-hit games and multiple-RBI games with nine.
Since returning from injury, Caleb Bartolero has been a regular in the lineup, hitting safely in 10 straight games.
Head coach Skylar Meade hasn't been afraid to mix up his pitchers this season. Cameron Gray made his pitching debut for Troy last weekend against Georgia Southern. Before taking the mound, Gray had only been used in the outfield and at first base before this season. He pitched two innings allowing no hits, no runs with two strikeouts, and a walk.
Brandon Schrepf, who hit a grand slam against Georgia Southern, has also seen action on the mound this season after primarily being used as a position player. Schrepf picked up his first win of the season against Georgia State and has only given up one run in four innings of work with eight strikeouts.
Auburn comes into the matchup after dropping the last two SEC series. Senior Sonny DiChiara leads the Tigers, currently leading the country in batting average (.448) and on-base percentage (.601) while ranking third in slugging percentage (.852).
