Troy Opens Its Sun Belt Tournament Against Little Rock in Quarterfinals

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Troy kicks off postseason play after receiving a first-round bye on Saturday against no. 12 seed Little Rock at the Bay Center Arena. Tip-off's set for 2 p.m.
The Trojans (19-10, 10-6 SBC) enter the Sun Belt Conference tournament as the fourth seed, following a 19-win season - most since 2016-17 (22).
Dropping the Regular Season Finale
The Trojans ended their regular season with a loss at home against the regular-season champions, Texas State, 66-61.
The Bobcats played the perfect shooting game, scoring 51.2 percent from the field and 60 percent from behind the arc.
Down 11, 48-37, with 8:13 remaining Zay Williams tapped in the alley-oop, sparking a 9-0 run for the Trojans that included seven straight points from Khalyl Waters on his senior night.
The final 4:51 saw the Bobcats shoot 5-of-5 from the field and 7-of-8 from the charity stripe, including four straight in the final seconds to secure the win.

Troy looks to avenge their 258-point game anniversary after falling to the Trojans of Little Rock (9-18, 4-11 SBC), 66-62.
Christyon Eugene lit up the scoreboard in the loss with a career-high 14 points, willing the team into a position to win the ballgame despite shooting 37.5 percent from the field.
Eugene brought Troy within one point, 55-54, scoring four straight points and dishing out the assist to TK Smith with 6:30 remaining.
However, Little Rock's 50 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from behind the arc in the second half was enough to keep them above Troy.

Little Rock comes off a massive upset over no. 5 seed South Alabama, 75-71, putting the Sun Belt on watch.
Jordan Jefferson found a hot spot, finishing their upset victory with a career-high 24 points on 8-of-9 from behind the arc.
However, Little Rock looks to Isaiah Palermo to carry, ranking 15th in the SBC in steals (1.3) and 22nd in scoring (11.4).
The ability to knock down 3-pointers and free throws have been major strengths, ranking third from the stripe at 73 percent and seventh in 3-pointers made with 6.8.
