Trojans Sign Guard Cauã Pacheco

TROY, Ala. - Troy men's basketball has signed Brazilian guard Cauã Pacheco, head coach Adam Howard announced Wednesday.
Pacheco comes to Troy after playing in Brazil's first division, the NBB, where he spent two seasons with E.C. Pinheiros alongside fellow Troy signee Afonso Pacheco.
"We're thrilled to welcome Cauã to the Troy basketball family," Howard said. "He's a true point guard who plays with poise, toughness, and a tremendous feel for the game. He impacts winning on both ends of the flow and has all the measurable qualities of a throwback guard who has the competitive edge that you need to win in the Sun Belt. Cauã has big game experience and we're counting on him to make an immediate impact on our program from day one."
Pacheco averaged 10.4 points for the NBB runner-up during the 2025-26 season, while also adding 3.4 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.1 steals across 29 games. In the three-game championship series against Franca, Pacheco scored 20 or more points twice, including a 24-point, nine-assist performance in a must-win victory.
During the 2024-25 season, Pacheco appeared in 27 games, averaging 5.5 points, 1.4 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 13.7 minutes per game.
Pacheco helped lead Pinheiros' U22 team to the 2025 league championship, earning First Team All-League honors and recognition as a Sixth Man of the Year finalist. He also won CBI U19 championships in 2022 and 2024.
