Jerrell Bellamy Begins Professional Career in Finland

TROY, Ala. - Three-year Trojan and two-time Sun Belt champion Jerrell Bellamy has signed his first professional contract with Kauhajoki Karhu Basket of Finland's Korisliiga.Â
Bellamy appeared in 66 games for Troy over three seasons after redshirting the 2023-24 campaign. The 6-foot-9 center averaged 6.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game during his time in the Cardinal and White.Â
The Phenix City, Ala., native saw action in all 34 games for the Trojans this past season, scoring 7.9 points per game while shooting 64.4% from the field, setting a Troy single-season record.Â
During the Sun Belt Tournament, Bellamy averaged 18.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, 2.5 steals and 1.0 assists in Troy's two victories en route to its second straight NCAA Tournament berth. His performance earned him a spot on the All-Sun Belt Tournament Team.Â
The 2025-26 season also saw Bellamy establish career highs in points (25), rebounds (11), assists (4), blocks (6) and steals (3).Â
Bellamy began his collegiate career at Chattahoochee Valley Community College, where he spent two seasons before transferring to Troy.Â
Bellamy joins a Karhu Basket program that has advanced to the Korisliiga Finals in four of the last six seasons, winning the league championship in 2021-22.Â
