Trojans Welcome the Peach State Swing

TROY, Ala. - Troy looks to recover from an 0-2 weekend in the Bayou State as the team welcomes the Peach State teams (Georgia State, Georgia Southern) to the Lunsford Tennis Complex this weekend - both matchups set for 10 a.m.Â

The Trojans (5-8, 0-2 SBC) aim to extend their undefeated streak at home on Saturday against GSU (9-4, 2-0 SBC) before wrapping up the weekend on Sunday against the Eagles (6-5, 0-1 SBC).

Falling in back-to-back games to start Sun Belt play, the Trojans start their conference schedule 0-2 for the first time since the 2010-11 season.Â

Battle in the Bayou
Conference play opened for Troy against UL-Monroe, falling in four-straight sets, 4-0.

Michelle Ncube / Kristina Kukaras were the shining light in the match, winning their doubles match convincingly over the Warhawks, 6-1.

Later in Lafayette, Troy battled with the Cajuns before falling 4-2.

The Cajuns took the lead, 1-0, after winning doubles competition. Olivia Elliott fired back to tie the match, 1-1, defeating Angel Santiago in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2.

Despite Franziska Ahrend bringing it to 2-2, Troy ultimately fell as Khokhlova and Kukaras dropped their singles match.
