Women’s Golf to Close Fall Schedule at Mercer Invitational

TROY, Ala. – The Troy University women's golf team will conclude the 2022 fall season tomorrow and Tuesday when they travel to Macon, Georgia, to participate in the Mercer Invitational at Brickyard Country Club.
The Trojans will be playing in their fifth tournament of the fall and have finished as high as third this season. Troy accomplished this feat at the Jupiter Women's Invitational in Jupiter, Florida, finishing third out of nine teams at the tournament.
ShaeLee Scarbeery enters the tournament with the lowest average among the Troy lineup this season. Through three tournaments played in 2022, the senior is averaging a 220 three-round score and has a season-low of 64.
Katelynn Altese leads the Trojans with sub-par scores so far this season, as the newcomer has recorded three scores of below-par shooting. She has a season-low score of 67 that she accomplished in the third round of the Jupiter Women's Invitational.
The two-day tournament will be the fourth instance this season that Troy will play 36 holes on day one before playing 18 on the final day of the tournament on the following day. The Trojans have played one three-day tournament this season.
After the Mercer Invitational, Troy will be idle until the spring season kicks off on February 6 and 7 when they travel to Panama City Beach, Florida, to tackle the Lady Bison Bay Point Classic.
