Get To Know Ja'Mia Hollings
Hollings comes to Troy after playing two seasons at EMCC. Hollings was a standout post player for East Mississippi where she was a two-time All-MACCC selection and a two-time All-Region 23 honoree. In her two seasons in Scooba, Miss. Hollings averaged a double-double (14.3 points and 10.2 rebounds per game). The two-year starter shot 60 percent from the field and 72 percent from the charity stripe and guided EMCC to a 36-8 record. Hollings was a four-time MACCC Player of the Week honoree, twice as both a freshman and sophomore. She led EMCC in both steals and blocked shots back-to-back seasons and was named to the 2021 NJCAA All-Region 23 Tournament Team.
Â
Rigby On Hollings
"Ja'Mia is such a great addition to our 2021-22 roster. She is an agile, running, scoring and rebounding post player. Her skill set is a natural complement to our style of play and I believe she will help us immediately."
Â
Troy is coming off its third Sun Belt Tournament Championship, fourth overall Sun Belt Title, and its third NCAA Tournament appearance under head coach Chanda Rigby. Troy made national headlines in the NCAA Tournament against No. 2 seed Texas A&M when they erased a 16-point deficit to lead the Aggies late in the fourth quarter before narrowly falling to the Aggies by just four points. Troy's 80-points scored was the third-most points scored by a 15 seed in NCAA tournament history.
