TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's tennis team will be heading to Tuscaloosa on Wednesday to take on Alabama at 3 p.m. before traveling to Mobile to battle South Alabama on Thursday at 2 p.m.
After a late addition to the schedule, Troy and Alabama will meet on the courts for the first time since 2002. Troy enters Wednesday with a 1-0 record after defeating Alabama State in its season opener, while Alabama is 6-1. The Crimson Tide played Alabama State earlier this season, defeating the Hornets 7-0. Troy enters the matchup with an 0-3 all-time record against Alabama. All three of those matchups took place between 2000-02.
Troy and South Alabama will be meeting for the first time April 18 when the Jaguars defeated the Trojans 0-4 in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. South Alabama enters the week with a 1-0 record after opening the season with a 6-1 victory over Xavier University (La.).
