TROY, Ala. – Troy women's basketball is gearing up for its final home weekend of the 2019-20 season. Troy will kick off the busy weekend on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. when the Troy Trojans host the Little Rock Trojans inside Trojan Arena.
Â
Troy Trojans (20-4, 11-2 SBC)
PPG: 80.5 | REB: 55.2 | FG%: .371 | 3FG%: .282 | FT%: .680
The Trojans will look to build upon their already impressive season with over a team that has been a throne in the side since joining the Sun Belt. A win against Little Rock on Thursday would keep Troy in at-least a tie for first-place with Coastal Carolina in the Sun Belt standings with four games left to play. Troy enters Thursday coming off a road win at Appalachian State last Saturday. Following a high-scoring affair at Coastal two days prior, Troy used a 28-6 second-quarter to blow the game open before leaving App with a 20-point. In the game five Trojans scored in double-figures, the first games with that many double-digit scorers since Dec. 15 at Chattanooga.
Â
Little Rock (10-14, 8-5 SBC)
PPG: 56.0 | REB: 32.6 | FG%: .395 | 3FG%: .291 | FT%: .670
Little Rock enters Thursday on a 3-game Sun Belt losing streak. It's their longest Sun Belt losing streak since 2012-13 when they lost four straight games between Jan. 9-19. When Little Rock has been successful this season, it has been because of the damage that the duo of Kyra Collier and Teal Battle can inflect on teams. When those two players combine to score 30 points or more this season, the Trojans have a 6-3 mark. Little Rock went 2-9 in its non-conference schedule and has already lost five Sun Belt Games, the most conference losses in a season since losing six total in 2013-14. They are 10-14 on the year and haven't finished below .500 in a season since the 2005-06 season, Foley's third year at Little Rock when they went 13-15. Little Rock head coach Joe Foley will be going for win number 800 as a head coach in his career on Thursday.
