The Trojans look to debut their revamped roster that includes just three returners: Detavia Salter, Shakirah Edwards, and Saniya Jackson. Head coach Chanda Rigby brought in Tiauna King, Hannah Smith, Jamonica Chambers, Kimora Hughes and Maaliyah Meeks as freshmen, which is the most in her tenure at Troy. Rigby also brought in five transfers via Riana Callihan, Aniya Hubbard, Tayla Barros, Aniya Finger and Taliah Martin.

Looking Forward
The 2026-27 season saw the Trojans tie their program record with 25 wins, finishing as runners-up in the Sun Belt Conference regular season standings and tournament. They earned their first-ever bid to the WBIT, where they faced Kansas to extend a three-year postseason streak. As a unit, Troy also led the nation in rebounds for the ninth straight year, tying UConn as the only two programs to lead an NCAA statistical category for that stretch.

Of Troy's 10 newcomers, Aniya Hubbard shone in the preseason with an All-Sun Belt Second Team nod. Hubbard sat out the last two seasons after a pair at Florida Atlantic. At FAU, Hubbard earned 2022-23 C-USA Freshman of the Year, All-Conference Second Team, All-Defensive Team and All-Freshman Team honors. She averaged 14.1 points (eighth in C-USA), 2.6 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 2.5 steals. She followed it in 2023-24, playing in 17 games and posting 17.2 points, 2.3 assists, 5 rebounds and 2.4 steals. In 15 of those 17 appearances, she scored double digits, with a career-high 30 points against Eastern Carolina.

Despite the 10 newcomers, Troy's reputation kept it voted No. 2 in the Preseason Coaches' Poll after 10 straight seasons with a top-4 finish in the SBC regular season standings.
