Men's Tennis Set For Big Weekend at Home

TROY, Ala. – Nearly a month into the season the Troy men's tennis team will finally be at home as they prepare for one of their biggest weekends of the season. Troy will have a loaded weekend playing four matches in three days. The Trojans will take on Florida A&M and North Alabama on Friday and USC Upstate and UAB on Sunday.
The Trojans enter this weekend with a 3-3 record and are coming off a 7-0 sweep over Alcorn State last Sunday. In the victory freshman Pak Hong Chan won his first collegiate match in singles on court four while Pelayo Antuna and Carles Anton made their season debut at No. 1 doubles, earning a 6-2 victory.
On the year Troy has been led by Anton who is 6-0 in dual matches and 11-2 overall for the year. Anton has been a force at No. 3 singles, posting a 5-0 record. Oskar Michalek has had an impressive senior campaign thus far, posting a 5-1 dual match record with a 4-1 mark at No. 2 singles. Between courts one and three the Trojans have accumulated a combined record of 15-3 while going 3-3 at each of the final three singles spots. In doubles action Troy has found its most success at the No. 3 spot, combining for a perfect 5-0 start to the year.
A Look at Florida A&M
• Florida A&M is 0-9 on the year
• On the year FAMU has only won a total of three points in their nine matches so far this season
A Look at North Alabama
• North Alabama enters Friday with an 0-7 record
• Of those seven losses, five have come against SEC teams, including two against nationally ranked Ole Miss
• UNA has lost 30 consecutive dual matches
A Look at USC Upstate
• USC Upstate enters the weekend with an 0-4 record
• Against the Sun Belt this season they are 0-2 with losses at Coastal and Georgia Southern
• They have won just two individual dual matches this season
• They play North Alabama on Saturday at Troy
A Look at UAB
• UAB enters the weekend with an 0-4 record
• They will play at South Alabama on Saturday before coming to Troy on Sunday
• UAB has won a total of two individual dual matches this season
