Men's Tennis Falls in Close Battle at Lipscomb

NASHVILLE – Troy men's tennis completed their second day in Nashville, battling Lipscomb to some close matches before falling, 2-5 on Saturday.
Troy battled from start to finish on Saturday as six of nine total matches played went to either tiebreakers or a third set. Although the doubles point went to Lipscomb, the tight battles started in doubles. Following a loss a No. 1 doubles, the duo of Carles Anton and Antuna Pelayo took home a victory just before the pair of Andy Romero and Oskar Michalek battled narrowly fell at the No. 2.
Singles play was just as tight from the opening serves with five of the six singles matches playing three sets. Trailing 0-1 after losing in doubles, Troy tied the match after Antuna won his first match of the season at No. 1 singles, winning the final two sets of his match. The Trojans then took a 2-1 lead as Carles Anton earned his third victory of the season, all coming from the No. 3 position. After falling at Nos. 4 and 2 Lipscomb eventually clinched the match on court six.
