Men's Tennis Set For Big Weekend in Nashville

TROY, Ala. – The Troy's men's tennis team has a busy weekend in front of them when they travel to Nashville, Tenn. for three matches. The Trojans will play three matches in as many days starting at Belmont on Friday before taking on Lipscomb and Tennessee State on Saturday and Sunday.

Troy enters the second week of the spring season with a perfect 1-0 record after defeating AUM 6-1 last Friday in Montgomery. After Troy won the doubles point they picked up victories at No. 2-6 singles with the match clincher coming from senior Oskar Michalek at the No. 2 spot.

Dating back to the stats from the 2006 season to the present, this will be the first time Troy has matched-up against any of the schools during the dual season.

Troy at Belmont
Friday, January 24 | 6 p.m.
Nashville, Tenn. | Ensworth Tennis Complex
Belmont at enters the weekend with an 0-2 record after falling to Vanderbilt (2-5) and Ole Miss (0-7) last weekend. The Bruins squad is made up of three seniors, five juniors and a pair of freshmen. Troy and Belmont will square off on Friday at 6 p.m.

Troy at Lipscomb
Saturday, January 25 | 5 p.m.
Nashville, Tenn. | Richland CC
Lipscomb, like Troy, is 1-0 on the season after defeating App State last Saturday 6-1 for their first season opening win since 2011. Before meeting Troy, Lipscomb will host Austin Peay on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Troy at Tennessee State
Sunday, January 26 | 2 p.m.
Nashville, Tenn. | Hadley Park
Troy will round out its Nashville trip Sunday afternoon at Tennessee State. The Tigers enter the match with an 0-1 mark after falling to App State 0-4 back on Jan. 18. Troy will be TSU's only match of the weekend, and their last match in January.

After a weekend full of road matches the Trojans will be at home for the first time on Friday, Jan. 31 when they host Alabama A&M at 2 p.m. at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
