Troy Inks Ole Miss Transfer Jhileiya Dunlap

TROY, Alabama – Troy head coach Chanda Rigby announced the signing of Ole Miss transfer Jhileiya Dunlap on Thursday.

Dunlap, a 6-foot-2 forward from Columbia, S.C., joins the Trojans after one season in Oxford where she averaged 5.9 points, 3.7 assists and 1.4 blocks in 18.5 minutes per contest.

"Jhileiya is a tremendous singing for the Troy women's basketball program," Rigby said. "We are always striving to bring players into our program who can help us climb to new heights. Her skill set, athleticism and body type puts us in a position to take another step up that ladder."

The former Dreher High School standout signed with North Carolina following her prep career but opted for Gulf Coast State College where she played two seasons winning an NJCAA national championship in 2017. Under the direction of coach Mary "Roonie" Scovel, Dunlap averaged 13.2 points and 8.1 rebounds during her sophomore season.

A three-star recruit out of high school, Dunlap was the South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year in 2016. She led Dreher to three state titles and scored 1,655 career points. Dunlap was a four-year starter for the Blue Devils and was ranked the 20thbest forward in the in the nation according to ESPN.

Dunlap (first name pronounced Jah-lee-ah) is the fifth player to join the Trojans as part of the 2019 signing class along with Emely Rosario, Tyasia Moore, Alexus Dye and Tiyah Johnson.
