Rigsby Mosley Named Sun Belt Player of the Week

TROY, Alabama – Troy sophomore outfielder Rigsby Mosley has been named the Sun Belt Conference Hitter of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon. Mosley hit .471 for the week with four extra-base hits.
Mosley's selection marks the second straight week that a Trojan has earned the award after Chase Smartt took home the honors last week. A native of Maitland, Fla., Mosley recorded eight hits over his 17 at-bats with three doubles and his sixth home run of the season – all six of his homers have come over the past 17 games.
He opened the week with a 1-for-3 performance against Alabama before knocking around ULM with seven hits in 14 at-bats to lead Troy to its sixth Sun Belt series victory over the last seven weeks. Mosley had multiple hits in all three games against the Warhawks and he finished the week with a .824 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage.
Mosley has moved back towards the top of the league leaders ranking second in the Sun Belt with his .349 batting average for the season while ranking fourth with 16 doubles and fifth with 2.21 total bases per game.
Troy is at Southern Miss tonight to close out the non-conference portion of its schedule before traveling to Mobile, Ala., this weekend for a three-game set at rival South Alabama. The Trojans are just two games back of first place in the Sun Belt East and a game behind the Jaguars for second with three league games to play before the Sun Belt Tournament.
