Troy’s Fifth Annual First Pitch Banquet set for January 23

TROY, Ala. – The fifth annual Troy Athletics First Pitch Banquet presented by Rick and Shari Smith is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, in Trojan Arena. The First Pitch Banquet serves as the annual kickoff for the Troy baseball and softball programs, where fans can meet players and coaches for both teams. Fans can purchase their seats or sponsor a table by visiting TroyTrojans.com/FirstPitch.
Head baseball coach Skylar Meade and head softball coach Eric Newell headline the event, and all fans in attendance can bid on exclusive Troy memorabilia, unique game day experiences and more in a silent auction. Additionally, Barry McKnight will open the microphone and engage with players from each program in a sit-down question-and-answer session. Attendees also have the unique opportunity to sit, eat and mingle with players and coaches from both teams.
Our annual First Pitch banquet is truly the kickoff of baseball and softball being on the horizon, Meade said. This event has grown each and every year, and we expect this night to be the best one yet. Make sure you sign up early to reserve a spot in Trojan Arena on January 23. Go Trojans!
We are so excited to partner with baseball for the first pitch banquet, Newell said. This event is always first class and is a great way to get the inside scoop on the softball and baseball teams before their respective seasons begin. Not only does this event provide a great way to show support, but it also provides an opportunity for the players and coaches to get to know and interact with friends of the program. We hope that everyone will mark their calendar to attend this event.
Those wishing to attend the banquet can purchase individual tickets for $100 or a table (six seats) for $650 – a baseball and softball team member will be seated at each table. Table sponsorships are also available for $1,000, which includes one table and recognition at the banquet via the ribbon boards and video board. Dinner and drinks are included with the price of each ticket.

Troy Softball kicks off its season with the annual Trojan Classic on Feb. 6-8 at the Troy Softball Complex, while Troy Baseball opens the season at Mercer on Feb. 13-15 and opens its home slate Feb. 20-22 with a series against Campbell.
