PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico – Sarah Harrison and Bianca Lohbauer carded eagles during Troy's second round of the Hawkeye-El Tigre Invitational at the El Tigre Golf and Country Club on Friday. Troy is in 11th place of 12 teams following two rounds of play.
Troy made the turn at 5-over as a team, but struggled on the back nine with an 11-over to settle the day with a 307. The Trojans can make a charge in Saturday's final round as they are just 10 shots out of seventh place.
Nicole Lorup led Troy with a 3-over 75 on Friday and is the Trojans' clubhouse leader along with Lohbauer in a tie for 31s tplace at 9-over. The Trojan freshman saved her round with three straight birdies to close out the day.
Lohbauer carded a 4-over 76 on Friday. She was 3-under following four holes with a birdie and an eagle before playing the front and back to an identical 2-over 38. Harrison sit three shots back in a tie for 45th at 12-over after shooting 5-over in the second round. Like Lohbauer, Harrison was 3-under after four holes with a birdie and eagle; she made the turn at 1-under but shot a 42 on the back nine.
Lindsey Harrison carded one birdie and shot 9-over on the day to sit tied for 47th place, while Camila Ugalde is in 62nd place following a second-round 7-over.
No. 10 Arizona carries a commanding 20-shot lead over Fresno State into Saturday's final round. Troy will be the first team on the course along with UMKC and Grand Canyon beginning at 1 p.m. (CT) for the final round.
