Women’s Golf Heads South of the Border Looking to Stay Hot

TROY, Alabama – Following one of the best performances in school history, the Troy women's golf team heads to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for the Hawkeye-El Tigre Invitational at the El-Tigre Golf Club Thursday thru Saturday.
The Trojans finished third in the spring opener which included school records for the lowest individual round and the lowest 54-hole team score and the second-lowest team round in school history.
Sarah Harrison earned Sun Belt Women's Golfer of the Week honors after tying for seventh place at the Spring Break Shootout thanks to her school-record 6-under 65 in the second round. She heads south with the second-best stroke average on the team with a 75.00 mark.
Bianca Lohbauer also had a strong start to her spring as she tied with Harrison at 2-over to lower her season average to 75.11. Loubauer shot in the red in the opening two rounds with a 36-hole mark of 4-under 138; the second-best in Troy history.
Freshman Nicole Lorup continues to lead Troy with a 73.94 average on the year despite a rocky start to the spring. She leads the Trojans with three rounds under par and is tied with Lohbauer with 94.4 percent of their rounds counting towards the team card.
Lindsey Harrison is scheduled to mark her spring debut after posting a 77.13 average in the fall while Mérida, Mexico native Camila Ugalde will make the second appearance of her freshman campaign.
The 12-team field will play 18 holes each day on the par-72, 6,085-yard golf course.

Iowa, Arizona, BYU, Colorado State, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Idaho, Kennesaw State, Troy, UMKC, Chattanooga and Tennessee
T-Time
Teams will face afternoon tee times for Thursday's opening round with the Trojans hitting the course along with Grand Canyon and UMKC beginning at 2 p.m. (CT).
