Women’s Golf Finishes Fifth at Idle Hour

TROY, Ala. – ShaeLee Scarberry turned in her second straight top-10 finish to lead the Troy women's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the Idle Hour Collegiate Championship, which concluded with 18 holes Tuesday.
Scarberry fired a 2-over 74 with one birdie as she finished in a tie for seventh place after winning the Town & Country Invitational last week to end the fall on a high note. She shot 2-over for the tournament and finished 14th in the field with eight birdies.
The Trojans picked up 11 victories in the 16-team field and ended the day with a 14-stroke cushion on sixth-place James Madison. No. 28 Charlotte won the team title by 14 shots over Mercer, and Georgia Southern finished third.
Nicole Lorup tied for 14th place at 9-over par after shooting 3-over on the day. Elisabeth Preus was three shots back of Lorup in 25th place after a pair of birdies in a round of 77 while Anna Claire Little finished 33rd after shooting 6-over on Tuesday. Judith Castro tied for 55th place and Brooklyn Bostick finished 80th playing as an individual.
The Trojans are done for the fall season and will be back in action Feb. 17-18 at the Amelia Island Collegiate in Fernandina Beach, Fla.
