Notes: Women's Basketball Heads To Florida for Date with Bethune-Cookman

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's basketball team will open the month of December in the Sunshine State as they travel to Daytona Beach to take on the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 2 p.m. (CT) on Sunday, Dec. 1.

Troy Trojans (3-2)

Troy will be on the road for its third straight game, in as many states, on Sunday. Troy's three game road swing has taken them to Mississippi, North Carolina and now Florida to take on Bethune-Cookman. Troy will be looking to snap a two-game skid and get back into the win column. Troy's offense has been able to put up points all season, averaging 87.2 points per game, including an 82-point performance against No. 10/8 Mississippi State and an 85-point performance against Duke. Although the points have come in bunches for Troy, they are outscoring their opponents by just seven points per game.

Bethune-Cookman enters Sunday's contest with a perfect 4-0 record. Their four wins have come against Edward Waters, FIU, Georgia Southern and Charleston Southern. So far this season, the Wildcats are outscoring their opponents by 24 points and are averaging 75 points per contest while allowing just 51. Through four games Bethune-Cookman is shooting 46 percent from the field and 43 percent from behind the arc. They are led offensively this season by Daniella Hatcher who is averaging 15 points per game. She has also scored in double figures in all four games this season for the Wildcats.

• Kayla Robinson continues her senior season with 958 career points and is primed to join the 22 other Trojans who have reached the 1000-point milestone. The senior has averaged 10.0 points in her career and could eclipse the career milestone within the next 3-4 games based on her season scoring average of 11.8 points per game
• Amber Rivers is also on the verge of eclipsing 1000 career points. The senior has currently scored 883 points in her Troy career
• Troy has played five games this season and in each of those five game Troy has been led offensively by a different player in each game. To date Japonica James, Kayla Robinson, Alexus Dye, Jasmine LeBlanc and Jasmine Robinson have all led the team in scoring
• This will be just the second time since last year's season opener that Troy has played a game in the state of Florida. Since 2014-15 Troy is 3-2 in games played in Florida. They have lost their last two game in the Sunshine State
• Troy begins the month of December looking to duplicate its success in the month last year. In 2018-19 Troy went 3-1 in games played in December. Their lone loss came in their first game of month to Middle Tennessee State
