Box Score
TROY, Ala. – Troy closed out the regular season in dominating fashion on Tuesday afternoon as the Lunsford Tennis Complex as the Trojans easily dispatched ABAC 4-0 on Senior Day.
Mustapha Belcora and Andy Lau—the two seniors playing for the final time in Troy—will certainly enjoy going out on top, but the quick 4-0 victory meant that Lau was unable to finish his doubles match while Belcora was forced to withdraw from all competition with an injury.
Lau and Amer Bedwan looked to improve to 12-1 in doubles play in the regular season, but left that match unfinished at 4-4 in a match that had four doubles matches for the starting point.
The doubles point was clinched with a 6-1 win by Pelayo Antuna and Jiaqi Duan and a win by the same score from Andy Romero and Shaaz Peerani. Antonio Selma slid into Belcora's sixth spot in singles play and picked up a 6-3, 6-2 win.
Troy (12-10) will now head to Peachtree City, Ga. as the fourth seed in the Sun Belt Championship and will take on fifth-seeded Georgia Southern on Thursday at 3 p.m. For more information on Troy men's tennis, visit TroyTrojans.com.
