Troy Knocks Off Georgia Southern On The Road

STATESBORO, Ga.– With season nearing the conclusion, Troy had one of the most impressive wins of the season on Tuesday after the Trojans knocked off conference foe Georgia Southern 4-1 on the road.
It marked just the second loss for the Eagles (11-10) in the past 10 matches. On the flip side, Troy has now won five of the past six and eight of the past 11 dating back to the second match of March.
It took a hard-fought effort in doubles play to earn the first point of the day as Pelayo Antuna and Jiaqi Duan battled to a 7-5 win while Amer Bedwan and Andy Lau had an even slimmer margin of victory in their 7-6 win.
Those victories propelled the Trojans (10-9) to three two-set wins in singles play to clinch the win. Antuna was steady in a 6-4, 6-3 win while Duan cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 win. Oskar Michalek closed things out with a 7-6, 6-2 victory.
