Troy Welcomes No. 16 Florida State

TROY, Alabama – For the first time in program history, the Troy soccer team will host a ranked opponent at the Troy Soccer Complex on Wednesday as No. 16 Florida State visits for a 2 p.m. kickoff.

The game between the teams was originally scheduled for Tuesday in Tallahassee but was rescheduled and relocated due to Hurricane Irma.

Troy (2-4-2) is coming off a 1-1 draw at Louisiana Tech on Friday. Kiersten Edlund scored her first goal of the season in the 87^th minute to help the Trojans salvage a tie. The Seminoles (4-1) last played on Sept. 3 when the team defeated Kentucky, 4-0, in Tallahassee. FSU's game at Florida on Sept. 8 was cancelled.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
No. 16 Florida State enters the week with a single loss, a 1-0 defeat to Alabama on Aug. 27. The Seminoles rebounded to beat Kentucky 4-0 getting a pair of two-goal performances from sophomore Deyna Castellanos and freshman Madisyn Pezzino. NOTEWORTHY
• Troy has played two ranked teams in its all-time history, both being Florida State. The Trojans lost to No. 12 FSU, 8-0, in 2007. The teams met again last season when the top-ranked Seminoles edged out a 1-0 win over Troy in overtime.

• Paced by team frontrunner Julia Winter with three goals, the Trojans are tied for the league lead with 13 goals on the season.

• Haley Roberson sits atop the Sun Belt Conference leaderboard and is ninth in the NCAA with five assists.
