Outdoor Returns from Florida Relays

Final Results
GAINESVILLE, Florida – Troy outdoor track and field found success against some of the best competition in the country at the Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville this weekend. The meet featured some of the top talent in Division-I and some Olympic athletes.
QUOTABLE
"We had a great showing at Florida this weekend," director Marc Davis said. "We had the usual outstanding performances from Hakim and Cori getting on the National Performance Lists, but we also had a number of athletes step up in a number of events. We are getting into the toughest part of our season now. I am getting existed to see the progress; with each passing week, my expectation for great performances is growing."
MALE PERFORMER OF THE MEET
Hakim Montgomery: Ran his first 100-meter dash of the season Friday – running a 10.25 to outperform his previous personal best. This currently sits Montgomery in the ninth place spot in the NCAA Division I standings.
Myles Charley, who competed in the college invite long jump, qualified for the final with a 7.22-meter jump. Daniel Glick ran a personal best in the 3000-meter steeplechase, improving his time to 9:24.52. Daquan Coleman also achieved a personal record with a 53.60 time in the 400-meter hurdles this weekend.
FEMALE PERFORMER OF THE MEET
Corina Cox competed in the discus event in the college invite division. Amongst a small field of elite discus throwers, Cox improved upon her previous season best with a throw of 53.50. This throw earned a sixth place finish along with the twentieth spot in the NCAA Division-I standings.
The women's sprinters impressed this weekend as well, breaking Troy's school record in the sprint medley relay with a time of 3:59.54.
The Trojans will separate into two groups this upcoming weekend with some participants traveling to East Carolina University for the Bill Carson Invitational, while others will head to Auburn University to compete in the Tiger Classic.
