Outdoor Split-Squad Takes on Tough Weekend

TROY, Alabama – Troy outdoor track and field plans to divide and conquer Friday and Saturday at the Bill Carson Invitational – hosted by East Carolina – and at the Tiger Classic – hosted by in-state foe Auburn.

ATHLETES TO WATCH
• Corina Cox, who is coming off of a strong performance at the Florida Relays, will look to improve her national ranking in the discus this weekend at East Carolina.Â

• Niata Alexander will be featured in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and running on the 4x400-meter relay team, trying to earn points for the Trojans.
Â
• Gemma Finch and Tiarra Bailey aim to push each other to fast times once again in the 800-meter run.
Â
• Alexis Garrett is looking to achieve a third personal record this outdoor season in the 100-meter hurdles.
Â
• Titus Sizemore, who is entered in the high jump, will compete to come away with another victory for the Trojans.
Â
• Myles Charley, having jumped well last weekend in Gainesville, will take to the runway in the long jump looking to have the same success.
Â
• Corey Bonner will look to build off of a pair of fast races the last two meets in the 400-meter dash.
Â
• Zach Douglas and Michael Alvernaz will look to earn the Trojans significant points in the throwing events; with Douglas in the shot put and discus throw, and Alvernaz in the hammer throw.

Troy's 4x100 and 4x400 meter Relays have been performing well this season, and are looking to improve their conference standings, as well.
