Men Finish Second; Women Fourth at Bill Carson Invite

TROY, Alabama – Troy men's outdoor track and field came away with second and the women finished fourth at East Carolina's Bill Carson Invitational, while the other half of the split-squad competed at Auburn's Tiger Track Classic.

MALE PERFORMER OF THE MEET
Zach Douglas followed his strong performance at the Florida Relays by throwing 18.09 meters in the shot put to earn a victory in the shot put season best 53.78-meter throw in the discus, which was good enough for second place.Â

Connor Brookman won the javelin throw with a personal record throw of 56.26 meters, while Myles Charley gave the Trojans a victory in the long jump, jumping 7.46 meters.

FEMALE PERFORMER(S) OF THE MEET
The members of the 4x400-meter relay team finished first with a time of 3:44.79, shaving 2.5 seconds off of their previous best performance for this season and posting the second fastest time in school history.

Corina Cox gave the Trojans their first win of the weekend with a throw of 52.64 meters in the discus. Niata Alexander ran a personal best in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.88. Gemma Finch earned a second place finish in the 800-meter run with a personal record time of 2:13.25. The women's 4x100 meter relay ran a strong race to finish second with a time of 45.90.

The outdoor season continues at South Alabama's Multi & Invitational in Mobile Thursday-Saturday.
