Troy Earns Two Victories In Finale

Daytona Beach, Florida – It was a quiet afternoon on the final day of the Juan Varon Memorial Invitational as only three Troy players participated in singles matches with the Trojans having two victors.
Sam Bird fell 6-3, 6-4 in his first match against Flagler but was able to rebound to win a 6-3, 6-4 match against Stetson. The other winner for the Trojans was Shaaz Peerani, who won his match 6-4, 6-3 against ERAU to finish with a 2-1 record for the weekend.
Ignacio Rodriguez fell 6-2, 6-1, but that was to the eventual champion of his bracket, WIlliem Van Der Akker of St. Leo. Troy will head to Gulf Shores, Ala. on Friday to participate in the Gulf Shores Collegiate Invitational in the final fall meet of the year.
