Troy Track and Field Geared Up For South Alabama Invitational

MOBILE, Alabama – The Troy track and field team will travel to Mobile, Ala., to compete in the South Alabama Invitational, which begins Friday and ends Saturday.

"Coming off a great weekend like we had last week, it is very important to keep up the momentum going into the 'Championship' season," Marc Davis said. "This week we will see at least two conference foes, so we have to compete with fire and intensity. There are no so called easy meets on our schedule, so we must stay sharp. I think we are in a great position to do some great things."

Fresh off a dual-meet weekend, that featured a third place finish for the men and women at the Bill Carson Invitational at East Carolina and various athletes competing at the Tiger Classic in Auburn, Ala., the Trojans will compete in 36 different events with close to 50 athletes competing at the South Alabama Invitational this weekend.

Friday's competition will feature men's and women's triple jump, javelin, pole vault and shot put, with the women's triple jump at 4:30 and the rest to follow.

Saturday gets kicked off at 9:30 a.m. with the men's hammer throw, followed by the women. At 1 p.m. on Saturday, the women's 400-meter competition will feature a rolling schedule with all the track competitions.
