Troy Outdoor Set for Live-Streamed Florida Relays

TROY, Alabama – Troy track and field is set to head to Gainesville, Fla., for the Florida Relays, which will begin on Thursday at 1 p.m. and end on Saturday. Part of the meet will be streamed live on SEC Network+ (WatchESPN).

A part of the action will be streamed live on Friday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 1:30 to the conclusion of the meet.

Thursday's first event will begin at 1 p.m. with Sydney Wright competing in the women's open 200-meter event. Thomas Servino will compete in the men's hammer throw at 4 p.m., and Brennan Garriques and Brackin Stewart will close out Thursday with the 5000-meter at 8:45 p.m.

"I am excited to send members of our team to the Florida Relays," director Marc Davis said. "It is a special meet. All competitors have been accepted into the meet, and the competitive fields are small. I as well as the rest of the staff, are trying to take this program to a new level, so going to meets like this are very important in the teams development. We have to embrace the tough challenges and show no fear when it comes to competition. I am excited to see these kids compete."

Troy has seven events during Friday's live-streamed time frame, with Jaevyn Wortham and Helga Volgyi competing at 11 p.m. in discus and hammer throws, respectively. Niata Alexander and Dallas Worthy will compete in the women's college 400-meter event.

Benjamin Martin will begin at 11:15 p.m. on the men's side with a 100-meter dash. Martin will conclude the live-streamed time frame on Friday with a 200-meter sprint at 3:15. Sandwiched in between Martin on the men's side are Cameron Rice and Tyson Robinson, who will compete in the 400 and 800-meter competitions. Rice will participate in the 400-meter, while Robinson will run in the 800-meter.

Zach Douglas will start off Saturday's events with a discus and shot put throw at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively. Niata Alexander, Cameia Alexander, Alexus Cobbs and Wright will run in the women's 4x100-meter dash, while Chandler Worthy, Hakim Montgomery, Rice and Martin will run the same on the men's side.

The Trojans only have two events that could be seen on SEC Network+ on Saturday. Indiya Summerville will compete in the shot put event at 2:30 p.m., before the Alexanders, Dallas Worthy and Wright wrap up competition at 3:35 p.m. with a 4x200-meter event.
