Men's Tennis Travels to Mercer for Second Tournament

TROY, Alabama – The Troy men's tennis team is entering the second week of fall play with a trip to the Mercer Gridiron Classic. The Trojans are coming off a successful first weekend in which the team saw an undefeated day of doubles play to start the tournament and ended with a draw wins by Andre Baldo and Gabriel Niculescu.

NOTEWORTHY
• The Trojans have both number one seeds in doubles play. Baldo and Niculuescu will be competing in the Vikings division against Berry to start and Amer Bedwan and Mustapha Belcora in the Texans division.

• This will be the first meet of the season for Bedwan, who is also an eight seed in singles play.

• Five of seven players are ranked in the top-eight in seedings for the weekend with Andre Baldo checking in as the highest at No. 2 in the Jets division.

THE COMPETITION
• Mercer, Georgia Southern, Berry, East Carolina, Alabama St., Georgia State, Florida Southern and Middle Georgia will be the teams competing against Troy.

• The Trojans will have draws in the Buccaneers, Jets, Raiders, Vikings and Texans draws.
