Troy Soccer Back in Action; Travels to Tennessee Tech and Belmont

TROY, Alabama – After 11 days off the pitch, the Troy soccer team will travel to Cookeville, Tenn., for a matchup with Tennessee Tech on Friday at 4 p.m. and will face Belmont in Nashville, Tenn., on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The Trojans' (5-2) last match was on September 6, a loss to South Florida in Mobile, Ala., at the Jaguar Classic.
Chelsey Williams has scored a team-high three goals and has two assists this season. Freshman Brook McKee has scored two goals along with a team-high three assists. Alissa Jones, Brittany Yoder and Abby Reynolds have two goals each this season. Jones and Reynolds each have two assists and Kirsten Rendall has one goal and one assist. Jones has fired a conference-high 41 shots this year, which is 5.8 shots per game.
Mikki Lewis has three shutouts and 27 saves with a goal against average of 0.77, which is fifth best in the conference. The Trojan defense has only allowed 60 shots and five goals this season.
Troy has outscored its opponents 12-5 this season. They are fourth in the conference in shots with 120, which is 60 more than its opponents.
Tennessee Tech (2-3-2) enters the match coming off a 1-0 win over Radford. The other win for Tennessee Tech came at home against Alabama on August 30. Five different Golden Eagles have one goal this season. Zoie Hensley leads the team with three assists. Troy and Tennessee Tech are tied 1-1 in the all-time series with the home team winning each time. The Trojans won the last meeting, 3-0, between the two in 2014.
Belmont (1-4-1) won its only game on August 23 at home against Little Rock, 2-0. The Bruins have only scored three goals this season, each have come from three different players. The Trojans trail in the all-time series with Belmont, 1-4. The last meeting came in 2004, with Troy losing in overtime in Nashville.
