Huynh Extends Streak, But Troy Falls at Georgia State

ATLANTA – Trang Huynh won her ninth straight match at No. 1 singles, but the Troy women's tennis team didn't get much else in a 6-1 loss at Georgia State on Thursday at Piedmont Park.
Troy (7-8, 1-4) lost a tightly contested doubles point. Georgia State (11-8, 2-1) first won at No. 2 doubles, but Troy responded as Anja Cosovic and Sanae Ohta won at No. 3 doubles, 8-5.
The Panthers, however, won a close match at No. 1 doubles, 8-6, over Huynh and Jiayuan Xue to clinch the opening point.
Georgia State, who spent a portion of this season ranked in the ITA National Team Rankings, clinched the match with wins at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
Huynh gave the Trojans their lone point and extended her winning streak to nine matches with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Masa Grgan at No. 1 singles. The Panthers won at No. 6 and No. 4 singles to close the match. Complete results are below.
