ATLANTA – The Troy women's tennis team will play its final two Sun Belt matches of the regular season when it travels to Atlanta to take on Georgia State on Thursday and Appalachian State on Friday. Both matches will be played at Piedmont Park at 10 a.m. CT.
Troy (7-7, 1-3) has not played in nearly two weeks since losses to Georgia Southern and South Alabama in Mobile. The Trojans have lost three of their last four matches with all three losses coming in Sun Belt matches.
The Trojans are led by Trang Huynh who has posted an 11-3 singles record including wins in her last eight matches. In doubles play, Huynh and Anja Cosovic are 11-1 on the season with six straight wins.
Georgia State (10-8, 1-1) has won three straight matches, including a 4-0 win over No. 51 Tulane last weekend. The Panthers, who were ranked in the ITA National Team Rankings earlier this season, are 4-4 against ranked opponents this season.
Appalachian State (7-12, 1-2) is hosting King University on Wednesday and taking on South Alabama in Atlanta on Thursday before playing Troy on Friday. The Mountaineers won there last contest, beating Western Carolina, 7-0, last weekend. However, prior to that, App State had lost nine straight matches.
