Troy Hosts UTSA, Travels to Ft. Walton Beach

TROY, Alabama – The Troy women's tennis team returns to the courts on Saturday when the Trojans host UTSA at the Lunsford Tennis Complex at 11 a.m. Troy will then travel to the Ft. Walton Beach Tennis Center where the Trojans will take on ULM on Sunday at 1 p.m. and Mercer at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Troy (5-4, 1-0) has won its last three matches, including its Sun Belt opener last Saturday over UL Lafayette. The Trojans cruised past the Cajuns, 6-1, with the lone loss coming in a super tiebreaker.

Trang Huynh and Sanae Ohta both have 6-3 singles records to lead the Trojans, followed closely by Anja Cosovic and Jiayuan Xue who are 5-3 and 5-2 in singles play, respectively. Huynh and Cosovic are 7-1 in doubles play, all at No. 1 for the Trojans.

UTSA (6-4) has won three of its last four matches, but lost its most recent at UTEP last weekend, 4-3. The Roadrunners have played one other Sun Belt team this season, falling at home to South Alabama back in early February.

ULM (5-3, 0-0) won its last match, beating Jacksonville State last weekend, but had lost three straight prior to that. The Warhawks have yet to play a Sun Belt match and will travel to face UAB on Friday before taking on Troy on Sunday.

Mercer (4-7) has won four of its last six matches, but lost is most recent to Florida Atlantic. The Bears, under former Troy head coach Eric Hayes, will host Western Carolina on Saturday then take on ULM on Monday before playing Troy on Tuesday.
