Huynh Wins, But Troy Falls to South Alabama

MOBILE, Alabama – Trang Huynh picked up her eighth straight win, but the Troy women's tennis team didn't have any other answers for undefeated South Alabama, falling to Jaguars, 6-1, on Sunday at the Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.
Troy (7-7, 1-3) lost at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles as South Alabama (12-0, 3-0) won the opening points. The Jaguars then won at No. 5 singles in straight sets to go up 2-0.
That is when Huynh cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win over Laura Valkova at No. 1 singles, snapping Valkova's three-match winning streak.
The Jaguars then won straight set matches at No. 2 and No. 6, respectively, to clinch the match. South Alabama won three-set matches at No. 3 and No. 4 to close the match.
The Trojans return to the courts next weekend when they host the Troy Spring Invitational at the Lunsford Tennis Complex. A full schedule will be posted on TroyTrojans.com next week.
