Trojans Cruise Past Alabama A&M

TROY, Alabama – The Troy women's tennis team closed its portion of the Troy Trojans Jamboree on Saturday morning with a 7-0 win over Alabama A&M at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
Troy (4-4) quickly took the doubles point, starting with a 6-0 win by Sanae Ohta and Brooke Durden at No. 3 doubles. Jiayuan Xue and Linnea Skymberg then clinched the point with a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles.
In singles play, the Trojans dropped just a combined six games as they dominated Alabama A&M (0-4). Durden started the scoring with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles. Julia Albuquerque then put Troy up with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.
Ohta clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles. Xue at No. 3, Skymberg at No. 4 and Trang Huynh at No. 1 closed out the scoring for the Trojans. Complete results are below.
The Trojans return to the court next Saturday when they host a Sun Belt match against UL Lafayette at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
