Troy Wraps Up Singles Play at ITA All-American

TULSA, Oklahoma – The Troy men's tennis team wrapped up its singles portion of the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships on Sunday with seven Trojans in action at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
The Trojans were taking part in the pre-qualifying portion in the ITA All-American Championships, the first of the college tennis' grand slam. Pablo Moreno and Francisco Yim Kim, after wins on Saturday, were in the third round on Sunday, but each lost in that round.
Yim Kim fell to Chi-Shan Jao of Tulane in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2, while Moreno fell to Western Michigan's Matt Hamilton in three sets, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
The other five Trojans took part in the consolation draw on Sunday with four of them picking up wins. Giovani Samaha, who went 1-1 on Saturday, cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 win over Jacob Herndon of Arkansas. Daniel Bustamante and Stjepan Cagalj also won in straight sets for the Trojans while Vaclac Slezak won in three sets.
Moreno and Samaha will continue play at the ITA All-American Championships on Monday when they take part in the qualifying draw in the doubles portion of the tournament. The doubles draw has yet to be released, but the duo, Troy's No. 1 doubles team at end of its 2015 Sun Belt Championship campaign, is expected to be in action on Monday.
