Troy Tennis Continues Play at Mercer Gridiron Classic

MACON, Georgia – The Troy men's and women's tennis teams continued play at the Mercer Gridiron Classic on Saturday. Due to weather, only quarterfinals were played on Saturday. Semifinals and finals, as well as consolation matches will be played on Sunday.

The Troy women had a successful day on Saturday as three of their four singles quarterfinalists won. The Troy women also had two doubles teams win their quarterfinals.

In singles play for the Trojans, Efriliya Herlina, Nancy Karaky and Luisa Ferrauti all advanced to the semifinals of the flight B, C and D singles draws, respectively. In doubles play, Karaky and Sanae Ohta will play in an A draw semifinals whole Ferrauti and Tereza Melicharkova will play in the B draw semifinals.

For the Troy men, Andy Lau picked up the lone win of the day as he advanced to the B singles semifinals with a straight-set win in the quarterfinals.
