Troy Drops Season Opener at Stetson

DeLAND, Florida - The Troy women's tennis team dropped its season opener on Saturday, falling at Stetson by a final score of 4-3.
Troy (0-1) started the day by dropping a tight doubles point. After splitting at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, the Trojans duo of Sanea Ohta and Brooke Durden dropped a tight match at No. 3 doubles, 7-5.
After dropping the No. 5 singles match, Troy got its first point when Ohta won her collegiate, duel-match debut, beating Isabella Fernandez at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-3. Troy then tied the match when Margot De Haan won at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
However, Stetson (1-0) won in straight sets at No. 1 and No. 4 to clinch the match. Anja Cosovic picked up Troy's third win as she won a three-set match at No. 3 singles, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, over Arijana Korac.
Complete results are below. The Trojans return to the court on Sunday when they travel to take on UCF at 11 a.m. (CST).
