Women's Tennis Drops Second Tight Match

ORLANDO, Florida – For the second straight match, the Troy women's tennis team lost by a narrow, 4-3, margin, this time on the road at UCF.
Troy (0-2) started the day by winning a hard fought doubles point. After falling, 6-0, at No. 2 doubles, Trang Huynh and Anja Cosovic evened things up with an easy, 6-1, win at No. 1 doubles. Sanae Ohta and Brooke Durden then clinched the point with a 7-5 win at No. 3 doubles.
Ohta gave Troy a 2-0 lead as she cruised at No. 2 singles, winning over Cortney Cesarini, 6-2, 6-4. UCF (2-0) quickly took a 3-2 lead with wins at No. 3, No. 6 and No. 5 singles, respectively, with the win at No. 5 coming in three sets.
Linnea Skymberg picked up her first win of the spring for Troy, taking a 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 4 singles, tying the match at 3-3. However, Huynh lost a third-set tiebreak as UCF's Caroline Eberhart clinched the match with a 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (2) win at No.1 singles.
Complete results are below. The Trojans return to the court on Friday when they travel to take on Alabama State at 2 p.m.
