Trojans Can’t Extend Winning Streak

ESTERO, Fla. – The Troy women's tennis team couldn't extend its winning streak to four matches on Sunday as the Trojans lost, 5-2, at Florida Gulf Coast.
Troy (5-6) won the doubles point thanks to wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Anja Cosovic and Trang Huynh won their sixth straight doubles match as they cruised 8-1 at No. 1. Lyubov Dorofeeva and Brooke Durden clinched the point with a tight, 7-6 (4) win at No. 3.
However, Florida Gulf Coast (5-4) won five of six singles matches to win a match-up of two .500 teams. The Trojans lone win came from Dorofeeva at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 7-6.
Huynh and Cosovic each saw their five-match singles winning streak come to an end. Huynh lost, 7-5, 6-2, at No. 1 while Cosovic lost the lone three-set match of the day, 7-6 (6), 1-6, 6-4, at No. 3. Full results are below.
The Trojans return to the courts on Tuesday when they travel to take former Sun Belt for Florida Atlantic.
